Your Step-by-Step guide to creating your own personal and unique map
  • Centralised, personalised and customised
  • Can be delivered folded or rolled
  • Ideal for gifts or personal use

STEP 1 - Decide how your map will be used

Your unique map is printed by inkjet printers on a single sheet without a hard cover and is available in two formats.

Hand folded
If you are going out and about, then this is the ideal map for you. The special paper has been tested for durability and will survive being folded at least 2000 times.

Rolled
If you prefer, your map can be supplied in a tube and can be used on the wall in schools, local organisations or as a gift for someone with an interest in a particular area.

STEP 2 - Decide which map suits you best

OS Select maps are based on our two most popular maps, Explorerâ„¢ and OS Landranger Map. Mapping information may vary from standard paper products as OS Select is produced from our range of digital data products.

OS Explorer Map
Fromn walkig to mountain biking, the essential map for outdoor activities. Highly detailed, they feature every town, village and hamlet as well as roads, lanes, footpaths and rights of way...........

Please note: Due to the process used to create this unique site-centred map it has not been possible to publish magnetic data. Therefore users must exercise caution if using this map with a compass or GPS equipment. Ordnance Survey cannot be held liable for errors in navigation.

STEP 3 - Select the centre spot

OS Select allows you to choose the centre point of your map, be it your home, favourite holiday spot or area of particular interest. No longer will the place you love most be on the edge of the map!

Please note: When ordering your map please be aware that the map will be centred on that location.

Therefore if your desired map centre is in a coastal area it is possible that the site-centerd map will have significant areas of sea. Ordnance Survey cannot offer refunds on any map where the details as written on this form have been entered correctly by us.

STEP 4 - Pick your own individual title and subtitle

Now is your chance to be creative and have some fun. Whether the map is for yourself or as a gift for family and friends, you have up to 16 title characters and 32 subtitle characters, including spaces, to think of something witty, serious or perhaps just informative.

STEP 5 - Decorate your map with a picture

Choose from our gallery of evocative country images or feature an overview of your chosen area.
